West Valley City School is experiencing a high rate of absenteeism in the 7th and 8th grades with over 50% of our students absent today due to quarantine or sickness. To reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 and provide equitable access to learning, City School will temporarily move to remote virtual learning beginning Friday, January 21st. This applies to all 7th and 8th grade students.
In-person learning will resume on Thursday, January 27th for students who choose to participate in the “Test to Stay” protocol. This protocol requires students to be symptom-free and test negative on a COVID-19 test before returning to school. Testing will be provided at City School on Wednesday, January 26th from 3:30-5:00pm and Thursday, January 27th beginning at 8:00am.
The first day of school for City School Students will be this THURSDAY September 9th! We are back to our normal hours of 8:20 am-2:40pm. All Wednesdays are scheduled as at home learning days, time built in for our students to work on homework, projects, community work and more! This week it means they get *one more day* to sleep in! See you all THURSDAY!
This October, our school will be participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey. The survey results are used to plan programs to support youth and reduce their risks. Participation is voluntary and students can skip any questions they prefer not to answer.
